New Aadhaar App Launched with Face ID QR Code Verification Know Features

The Government of India has introduced a new Aadhaar mobile app designed to provide safe and paperless digital identity verification. The new Aadhaar app relieves the hassle of carrying a physical document or providing photocopies for the app identity verification. The app was launched during the third edition of the Stakholder Conference Aadhaar Dialogue held in New Delhi via UIDAI. Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav launched the app and said that it makes Aadhaar verification easier through features such as facial recognition and QR code scanning. It was informed that the app takes permission to share digitally for the necessary data, taking special care of the privacy of the people.

UIDAI said that the app has been designed with advance privacy security rules. It has been designed in such a way that unauthorized scammer can not reach Aadhaar data in any way, nor is there any risk of tampering or misuse. In this, users keep full control on which information and when to share.

New Aadhaar app features

This app provides only digital base verification through mobile. There is face ID authentication for additional safety. Like the UPI, the QR code is scanning for instant identity verification. There is no need to keep or deposit the photocopy of Aadhaar. 100% constant based data sharing is available. Mistake of Aadhaar information provides protection from using or editing. Privacy safeguards are better. Users’ devices have a direct safe real-time data transfer.

Verification is done without interruption in hotels, airports, shops and other places through the app. Easy interface is given for immediate use. Aadhaar face authentication has been integrated in the app, through which more than 15 crore transactions are being done every month. UIDAI said that this digital method for identity verification is being adopted in all sectors.

The app has been designed to reduce dependence on physical documents, reduce the risk of data leaks and make authentication easier in daily cases such as hotel check-in, airport security and retail procurement. Currently, this app is in beta testing and is available only at limited levels, including registered users of the Aadhaar Dialogue event. UIDAI users are planning to expand it after feedback from people involved in ecosystem.
