A very surprising case of online fraud has come to light on Whatsapp. This case is being reported from Hyderabad. Indian Express Report According to, Pradeep Jain (28) started getting WhatsApp call from an unknown number in the morning. A few minutes later, a message was received from him from the same number. The message had a photo of an elderly person. The caller asked Pradeep Jain, ‘Do you know this?’

Initially the person ignored this message. But after that, calls started coming on his WhatsApp call. Finally, after losing, Pradeep Jain looked at the photo and looked at it. Just had to do that hackers got access to Pradeep’s phone. In a few minutes, an amount of Rs 2 lakh 10 thousand was blown away from his account. This amount was withdrawn from ATM in Hyderabad. When Canara Bank called Pradeep and informed it, the hackers also talked to the bank in his voice! This is called the Least significant bit (LSB) Stagnography scam.

What is LSB Stagnography scam?
Least significant bit (LSB) stagnography is a technique that can hide data in media files. For example, data, or data in the audio file can be sent to your phone. In this, the least significant bits of data units are modified. At the same time, Stagnography is a Greek word which means Hidden Writing means ‘hidden handwriting’. In cybercrime, this technique is used to insert malware or secret instructions inside a harmless -looking media files.

Fake login pages or suspected attachments are usually used in traditional fishing attacks or malware attacks. But on the contrary, the code is hidden inside the files that look clean in stagnography. Experts say that Stationography can also cheat AI-based image identity. Therefore, users need to be very careful in digital era. A small negligence can cause major damage to users.
