Sony is Working on 200MP and 100MP Sensors for Smartphones May Beat Samsung 200MP isocell Sensor

Sony is allegedly working on its 200MP, and 100MP smartphone sensors. This has been revealed in a latest leak. Well -known tipster of China Digital chat station Share a post on Weibo (via) Done. The post states that the 100MP sensor will be used by many Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) in the coming time, which will be used in phones with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or Dimensity 9500 flagship chipsets. That is, by the end of this year, smartphones that come in the market can see a big change in camera and image processing.

As far as 200MP sensor is concerned, Sony may soon be seen using it in its upcoming smartphones. Also, these sensors will be sold to other Chinese OEMS. According to the Sammobile report, the 200MP Sony sensor will be larger than the current 200MP isocell sensors. The 200MP isocell sensor is currently being seen in smartphones like Vivo X200 Pro (Telephoto Lens) and Galaxy S25 Ultra (Main Camera).

The Vivo X200 Pro made headlines due to its 200 megapixel periscope telephoto lens. As a result, 100MP and 200MP sensors of Sony can be seen in the flagship smartphones of all Chinese companies soon. Because most Chinese smartphone makers have been using 50MP sensors in their mobiles as a main sensor for a long time.
